As the FBI hate crime statistics consistently puts anti-Jewish hate crimes at the top of anti-religious hate crimes, should the paper have written, "The shooting in Poway, about 25 miles north of San Diego, coincides with a significant spike in hate crimes, including acts of anti-Semitism."?

Yesterday I linked to a fundraising request This Passover Take A Stand Against Hunger With Meir Panim.
I clicked on the site, saw the statistics in the video about 1 in 3 Israeli children skipping at least one meal a day, and 6% resorting to loooking for food in garbage bins. I made a donation which was immediately doubled, due to matching funds. It gave me a feeling of exhiliration to see my donation mutiplied by two and realized that not only had I done a mitzvah, but I caused someone else to do one, as well. Additionally, there is the good feeling of helping people achieve some measurre of happiness on Passover, as the fund will be used to distribute meals for the needy for the holiday. Don't miss out on this mitzvah! Or should I say, mitzvahs?

I suppose if they were alive during the actual redemption from Egypt, they would have balked at entering Israel, as it would mean occupying a foreign land. Better to return as slaves to Egypt.

A Columbia University professor wrote on Facebook that the only difference between Israel and the Islamic State, is that Zionist columnists defend the Jewish state’s “terrorist cause.”

After reading the INN article, I found the professor's twitter account and tried the link to the Facebook post in the tweet below. The link sent me to a page with the message, "Sorry, this content isn't available at the moment

Rabbi Avitan says that this Shabbat we take out three Sifrei Torah and it is an auspicious time. He relates that the Hebrew word for the month of Nisan has the equivalent gematria of 170, 10 times tov. He advises to say the Tikun Haklali once sometime during Shabbat, followed by reciting Tehillim 100 - 10 times, and then beseeching Hashem for what one needs.

Breaking Bread
This morning I read an article titled Muslims and Jews celebrate Jewish holiday together at Muslim Center in Bettendorf.
In the video embedded in the article, the journalist begin reporting by stating, "Jews and Muslima are coming together in Bettendorf to celebrate the Jewish holiday, Passover, together at the Quad Cities Muslim Center. KWQC's Sarah Jones met with the women who were gathering together to break bread."
