Picture that

IsraellyCool posted about a picture showing a woman being arrested by Israeli forces. The picture was used in other articles.

Over here in a 2016 article, she is identified as a 17 year old student arrested in the village of Badrus.

Over here in a 2016 article she was arrested in Hebron for allegedly strying to stab a soldier.

Over here the same picture is used in an article which claims that "Israeli occupation forces stormed the village of Shaqba west of Ramallah on Wednesday, arresting Birzeit University student Jorine Said Qadh, 21."

Over here the same picture is used in a 2019  article which identifies the woman as Isra’a Hammad Abu Sneineh and states, that a "22-year-old Palestinian woman at a military checkpoint in the occupied West Bank city of Hebron after she posted a comment on Facebook on Al-Aqsa Mosque."

The Corrrection

The Daily Caller reports that Stephen Fiske, identified in a NYTimes article as a longtime activist with AIPAC, "confirmed to The Times of Israel on Friday that he has not been associated with the organization for several years. Rather, he’s the chairman of a pro-Israel PAC that has no affiliation with AIPAC."
https://dailycaller.com/2019/03/11/ocasio-cortez-aipac-fundraise-nyt/

The initial version of the NYT article reads, "Alarmed by messaging that he saw as anti-Semitic and by Ms. Omar’s support for the boycott-Israel movement, Mr. Fiske, a longtime activist with the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, began texting and calling his friends in Congress to complain."

The newer version of the NYT article reads, "Alarmed by messaging that he saw as anti-Semitic and by Ms. Omar’s support for the boycott-Israel movement, Mr. Fiske, who was a longtime activist with the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, began texting and calling his friends in Congress to complain."

It was edited recently to add the words "who was." The NYTimes does not inform its readers that a correction was made.

Snopes.com is described as "The definitive Internet reference source for urban legends, folklore, myths, rumors, and misinformation."

A question posed on the site was "Did U.S. Rep. Ilhan Omar Marry Her Brother?" Since she denounced it as a lie, I would expect Snopes to rate the claim "False." Instead, the rating is "Unproven."

Campus Reform reports, "On the heels of Democratic Congresswoman Ilhan Omar's recent anti-semitic comments, the Brown University student body will soon vote on a referendum demanding that the Ivy League university “divest” from any “stocks, funds, endowment and other monetary instruments from companies complicit in human rights abuses in Palestine,” according to an announcement by the petitioning student group, Brown Divest.
...Brown University’s undergraduate student body will be able to vote on the referendum from 12 p.m. on March 19 to 12 p.m. on March 21."

Does the university realize that the vote will take place on Taanit Esther and Purim? Venafoch Hu.

Getting the message across

The @NYTimes picks up and runs with @IlhanMN's antisemitic ball

The EOZblog posted about an article in the NYTimes which questioned whether AIPAC was too powerful. The Times article quoted an AIPAC activist and the blog had something to say about the picture of the activist used in the NYT article.

Even worse, the same activist is pictured - not knocking on the doors of members of Congress, but praying with a talit and tefillin.
Because the dog-whistle of AIPAC being the Jewish lobby was apparently too subtle for the New York Times editors. They had to show him do something really, really Jewy, just to get the message across that yes, the Jews are the ones who are controlling the US government.
