Waiver vs. Waver

IsraellyCool posted the above image taken from Bella Hadid's Instagram account. Spelling stickler that I am, I was perturbed by her use of the word 'waiver."

“While everyone’s intentions were to make something positive and bring people together through art, the collective lack of understanding from all parties undermined the process. I do not believe in hate in any form, including antisemitism. That will never waiver, and I stand by that statement to the fullest extent.”

I was listening to a Harvard student being interviewed by Yaakov Langer about anti-Semitism on campus, when Mr. Langer took a break from the interview to remind his listeners that TorahAnytime is asking for donations to help continue its work of providing hours of Torah lectures for the general public. A Positive Impact

A relative told me about a shiur she had attended this morning about judging people positively. The lecturer spoke about someone who cuts into your lane while you are driving. You can get angry, or alternatively, you can imagine that this person is driving someone to the hospital and therefore, cut into your lane to get there faster.
Soon after I heard the story, I was placed in a situation where I could have chosen to feel insulted and blame the person who did not acknowledge me. However, I chose to believe that she was engrossed in conversation with an older woman, and it would have been rude to stop talking to her. She bore no ill feeling to me, but was super polite and wished to respect the woman with whom she was engaged in conversation. I smiled to myself and acknowledged that my relative's words made a positive impact on my spirits this morning.

Missing the Mark

An individual from a whatsapp group posted the speech below from Naftali Bennett, who spoke at Yad Vashem a few years ago. The concensus was that while it was a powerful speech, the politician missed the mark by mentioning Hashem only once in passing at the end of his remarks.
