Breitbart reports on guidance for citizenship clarified by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services.
Under the clarified guidance from USCIS, certain immigrant candidates for citizenship do not need to declare that they will “bear arms on behalf of the United States” and “perform noncombatant service in the Armed Forces of the United States.”

Did you approach any other countries to take some of the children?
The Americans. but the Americans wouldn't take any. Which was a pity. We could have got a lot more out.
Winton had written President Roosevelt asking the US to take in more children. A minor official at the US Embassy in London wrote back, "The Unites States government was unable to help."
