A WSJ article describes the cause of death of Laith al-Khaldi during a demonstration this past Friday.

Ahmad Betawi, the director of the Ramallah hospital, said Laith al-Khaldi died after being shot in the chest Friday during a demonstration over the burning death of a Palestinian toddler in a fire set by suspected Jewish extremists. The Israeli military says it shot Mr. al-Khaldi near Ramallah after he hurled a fire bomb at them.

The article has a photo with the caption "A Palestinian protester runs after throwing a molotov cocktail toward Israeli soldiers during clashes..."

Below are two comments posted under the WSJ article.

Protest to your heart's delight. Throw a fire bomb and you stop being a protester and immediately become a legitimate target for security forces and you risk getting shot. The journalists need to make the distinction between these two.

WSJ editors - please try to rid yourself of dimwitted reporters. "Protestors" do not toss molotov cocktails.

Below is another article detailing the cause of death.

The autopsy indicated that the bullet penetrated through al-Khaldi’s body from behind, where it went through his spine’s first lumbar vertebra and hit the inferior vena cava, a large vein in the abdomen that returns blood from the lower body to the heart, tearing through the intestines and liver, before coming out of the right side of his upper abdomen.
