The New York Times ends an obituary for Sid Caesar with a thought that the comedian shared during a 1987 interview.
“Everybody wants to have a goal: I gotta get to that goal, I gotta get to that goal, I gotta get to that goal,” he said. “Then you get to that goal, and then you gotta get to another goal. Beautiful D;var Torah by this Rabbi. Very true. Good to have a reminder. So true, that when someone hurts you and you want to ask why. It really is in many ways a test to treat others not how this person just treated you. Rather, we should see it as a reminder from Hashem to treat others well and let Hashem take care of that which was just done to you.
ReplyDeleteI hear this from my Rav on particular issues. He will tell me, "You take care of what you need to do and let Hashem take care of so an so or that particular situation..."
