Five people were killed in an explosion in the central Gaza Strip on Saturday (May 5) in what was thought to be an accidental blast, residents and the health ministry said.
Gaza's health ministry confirmed five people were killed and three others wounded in what residents said appeared to be an accidental explosion in the Az-Zawayda area of the central Gaza Strip.

Hamas' military wing has said Israel is responsible for the explosion, which it said took place during a "complex security and intelligence operation", AFP news agency reported.
