Re: Rome and Jerusalem: The blurring of these two opposite cities into, purposely, somehow almost brotherly is a chilul H'. Eisav soneh Yaakov. That Jews have, r'l, moved away from our purpose in this world and forsaken our history, and mostly, the laws of our Torah, is because being thrust to the four corners of the earth had terrible influences on the people and so many were not strong enough to continue their heritage and lost their way. We are a people from the time of yetziat Mitrayim to Sinai and to our holy Batei Mikdash and, thereafter, to the Rabbinic world which has kept us alive through our Holy Torah. All the other stupidities and explanations mean nothing. Those who have completely forsaken their holy heritage and taken on the ways of the West or the East are the losers.
