A Pogrom

25 Tishrei: The Ethical Will and Last Teaching of the Chasam Sofer on His Yahrtzeit - Rabbi Daniel Glatstein explains the qualities of leadership exhibited by the Chasam Sofer. Interesting to listen to, especially since today is the yahrzheit of the Gadol.

Below are excerpts from a post written by someone who reported for duty in the IDF a few days ago.

Keep Positive

You cannot change the facts on the ground, but you can choose how you (and they) experience them. In the timeless words of the third Rebbe of Chabad: “Think good, and it will be good!”

Add Spiritual Light to the World

Jewish men and boys: Wrap tefillin and pray for us. If you do not have a pair, your local Chabad rabbi will be more than happy to help you out.

Jewish women and girls, your Shabbat candles bring light and tranquility to the world. This Friday night (and every Friday) before sunset, light candles and restore some of the bright and shining souls that have been snuffed out.

Pray for Us!

The NYPost derides the spineless celebs regarding the massacre of Israel's citizens.

But the senseless slaughter of at least 900 Jews in Israel and kidnapping of countless more — gleefully broadcast by bloodthirsty Hamas terrorists — has sadly triggered a relatively anemic response from the boldface social justice class.

The article highlights Kyle Jenner, who deleted a pro-Israel post.

After all, just over a week ago, Jenner launched her new Power Plush Longwear Concealer along with her angled vegan brush, which is “cruelty free” as she noted in an Instagram post.

Asking for Prayers

The Main Thing Is Not to Be Afraid At All

Below is a Facebook post that I saw today written by a soldier in Gaza.

Today our hearts beat with fear. Who among us is going to die? And who will return safe and sound? We are your messengers in battle. We fight so that you can live in peace with your children. So you can stay alive. We are your protection. Will you be one of us? We go on this dangerous mission knowing that some of us will not return, but will ascend to our next position in a storm to heaven, as Eliyahu the prophet did. We go there with devotion and dedication. We ask you to be our protection through your prayers. Protect us by going beyond yourselves through spirituality and good deeds. Pray for us. Pray that you will not see another mother bury her son. Pray that you will not see our women as widows raising our children in tears. Pray that our children will grow up knowing who their fathers are. Pray that we eliminate the terrorists who aim to destroy us, and that we do not harm innocent women and children. Please, we implore you, as you read this, don't just move on to the next thing you do. Say a chapter of psalms. Awaken King David to ask the Almighty for full redemption and peace for the whole world. Take upon yourself another good deed. And please pass this on. I am sure your prayer will make a difference. Remember, we are in this together. We are on the front lines with weapons and you fight with us in your prayers. Every word of your prayer gives us strength, protection and success.
