His money

Hashem Knows Exactly What to do with your Prayers - R. Duvi Bensoussan

"Im Kesef Talveh Es Ami HeAni Imach; When you lend money to the poor man in my nation." (Mishpatim 22:24) This is the mitzva of lending money to the poor. The Kotzker Rebbe learns this pasuk B'Derech Drush.

The Mishna in Pirkei Avos (6:9) says that when a person leaves this world, "Ein Milavin Lo LiAdam Kesef V'Zahav... Ela Torah U'Maasim Tovim; His money does not accompany him, only his Torah and good deeds." The Kotzer says, "We find a remez to this in our pasuk. 'Im Kesef Talveh Es Ami; If a person dies and finds that his money is accompanying him on his journey to the next world, Es HeAni Imoch; it is not the money you enjoyed, but rather the money that you gave to a poor person.' That money will stay with you for eternity."

NEW YORK TIMES COVERS UP RASHIDA TLAIB’S ANTISEMITIC TWEET

The same NYT article reports on Representative Ilhan Omar.

Ms. Omar was previously criticized for writing on Twitter in 2012 that Israel had “hypnotized” the world from seeing their “evil deeds.”

The actual tweet was, "Israel has hypnotized the world, may Allah awaken the people and help them see the evil doings of Israel."

Countering Skepticism

Prominent Democrats Form Pro-Israel Group to Counter Skepticism on the Left

While the overwhelming majority of congressional Democrats are strong supporters of Israel, the party’s pro-Israel wing has been jolted by election of a pair of high-profile freshman, Representatives Ilhan Omar of Minnesota and Rashida Tlaib of Michigan, who support the boycott, divestment and sanctions movement against the country.

Yes, you can really see how an overwhelming majority support Israel, as evideced by the video below from a number of years ago.

MICHELLE ALEXANDER’S CALL TO ‘BREAK THE SILENCE’ IS NY TIMES’ LATEST ANTI-ISRAEL SMEAR

A blood libel too far

The Michelle Alexander article at the New York Times was one-sided, as well as the photos and captions that accompanied it. One photo has the caption, "The Said al-Mis'hal cultural center in Gaza was hit by an Israeli airstrike in August." However, it can be identified as something else than a cultural center.

HonestReporting called on CTV National News to “issue an on-air corrective to remedy the erroneous and misleading statement it broadcast” that Israel destroyed a Gaza cultural center, when in fact the IAF conducted a strike against Hamas’ headquarters.

A coveted spot

LINDA SARSOUR PROMOTES ANTI-ISRAEL MOVEMENT DURING WOMEN’S MARCH

Ilhan Omar gets a coveted spot on the Foreign Affairs Committee, and House Republicans slam Democrats

In the video below, Christiane Amanpour asks, “Can I just move on to something that’s generally a rite of passage for politicians in the United States, and that it is to express fealty or pay homage to AIPAC”.

Why isn't anyone outraged about the way she framed her question?

Sweet Water

Shas for Shidduchim

Israeli woman with cerebral palsy graduates Technion medical school

After Krias Yam Suf the Bnei Yisroel arrived in Mara and had no water to drink because the water there was bitter. Hashem told Moshe to throw in a bitter tree and the water became sweet. After this incident the pasuk recaps and says "Sham Sam Lo Chok UMishpat VSham Nisahu"; in Mara Hashem gave them mitzvos and tested them. Why was it so important to test them?

The Netziv explains that the Torah is teaching us a valuable lesson for all generations about Bitachon and earning a living. Sometimes a person's finances come down to the last penny and it looks like he will have nothing to eat. The future looks bleak and there is no help in sight. Even then a person must be confident in Hashem that he will provide a way to support him. Hashem is "Kol Yachol" and His salvation can be provided from the most unexpected sources. Just like the bitter tree was the least expected solution to cure bitter water so too Hashem can bring your fortune from what appears to be the exact opposite, so don't ever lose hope. Hang tough, it is all just a test!

Leil Shimurim

The night of Yetzias Mitzrayim is called Leil Shimurim from the pasuk (Bo 12:42), "Leil Shimurin Hu Lashem L'Hotzium MeiEretz Mitzrayim." The Chida says that this pasuk is a remez to a person in this world. Leil is gematria 70, which represents the 70 year life span of a person on this world. Shimurin Hu Lashem, they must be watched for Hashem.

L'Hotzium MeiEretz Mitzrayim, to take your life out of the land of Mitzrayim. Mitzrayim is from Meitzar which means tight and distressed. Living a life chasing the pleasures of Olam HaZeh causes constant pressure. By spending our lives for Hashem, we will not be strangled in this world. We will open up vistas for ourselves in this world and the next.

The accidental explosion

The New York Times Incentivizes Hamas Violence

An explosion in the Gaza Strip last night has had conflicting stories about the incident.

One report claims, "Security officials in Gaza said the explosion came as a result of a technical error when militants were preparing an explosive device."

Another report claims, "The blast happened in an empty house and its cause and perpetrators are not currently known."

MaanNews in Arabic reported about, "an accidental explosion at a house under construction."

MaanNews in English have not reported about the incident to date but they did report on an incident at Joseph's Tomb a few days ago. "A Ma'an reporter said that Israeli soldiers escorted hundreds of Israeli settlers raiding Joseph's Tomb to perform religious rituals."
