Mesorah

Appropriate Gratitude

A comment under a Washington Post article titled Ex-roommate of Facebook founder becomes rabbi in Israel reflects on Conservative Judaism.

In Orthodox Judaism the Rabbi's talk about the "Mesorah" a lot. I understand it to be transferring the traditions and laws of Moses from Mount Sinai to his people. Conservative Judaism offers a way for most Jews to say that they have a connection to their religion. But does it really give them anything or is it just a path to rationalize their connection to a belief they have given up a long time ago.

  1. There is only one Torah m'Sinai which is eternal. These movements, rabbis and denominations can all rationalize up to the kazoo, but not one letter, vowel, etc. can be changed. Therefore, whether it be the conservative, reform denominations of all kinds and this new insanity of open orthodoxy, are completely meaningless and have only caused & contributed to the assimilation and intermarriage of millions of Jews (yes, millions over these two plus centuries). There is only one description for all this - evil against H' and His holy Torah! The mesorah handed down through the millenia has kept the Jewish people and Torah that gave civilization to the world, alive and so it will be for eternity; hopefully Moshiach is on his way to us, and then the whole world will then know this TRUTH.
