Downs and ups

A poignant letter to the Hamodia from a girl who comes from a divorced home was published in this week's issue.
Among her wise words was the following excerpt.

"I once heard that the lines on the graph of an electrocardigram that measures the heart go up and down. A straight line means death, R"L. It is similar with life. Would you like a straight line with no challenges? No, and in order for you to get the ups you must first get a down. And since a straight line means death, Hashem chose us to live; to use the challenge to build the "up." So stand straight and lead the beautiful life you can, and don't forget to thank Hashem for sending you this nisayon, beccause it means that He chose you. He loves us more than you can ever imagine."
