For granted

A Charedi website reports that a man who was supposed to escort his 13th child to the chuppah this evening, was niftar this morning after suffering a long illness.
They also report about the young man in Japanese custody who was found innocent by a judge this week. He made a telephone call to the Rosh Yeshiva of Satmer and told him that his physical conditions have improved. He has a bed, a light and he is able to speak with outsiders.
Yesterday I was sitting in a waiting room of a doctor who shared his space with a physical therapist. I saw two amputees, three people in wheelchairs, and a man having great difficulty walking with a cane.
This morning I said the blessing of zokef kefufim - Who helps us stand up straight - with great feeling.
Let us thank Hashem for the things we take for granted - our parents, a bed, electricity and the ability to walk straight, among other things.
