This week I received a weekly email from Manhigut Yehudit. Amongst the writings was a description by Shmuel Sackett of his visit to the hospital to see David Feiglin, teenaged son of Moshe Feiglin. He wrote that extensive rehabilitation efforts are underway. At this point, David remains in a sleep-like state.
On Monday, I visited David Feiglin, still hospitalized after a serious car accident.
This past Sunday, David actually responded to a command to take food that was on his spoon and put it in his mouth. This was a major step in the right direction and shows that he is progressing - slowly but steadily.
All I can say is that as Rosh Ha’Shanah approaches, please keep David Yosef ben Faiga Perel in your prayers.
Yesterday morning, I was walking to a neighborhood store when I noticed a woman walking with a crutch under her arm, having great difficulty negotiating one step after another. Her face reflected tremendous pain as she made slow progress towards her destination. Watching her, I uttered a thank you to Hashem for being able to walk with such ease.
Hashem created human beings with abilities to accomplish tremendous feats. Once in a while, an email, or a small incident reminds us to be grateful for our capabilities.
