A blessing in my life

Rodney King, who was awarded millions of dollars by a jury after police were caught on tape striking him, has become engaged to one of the jurors from the trial.
What caught my eye in reading an article about his engagement was the way he described his fiancee.
"She is a godsend, a blessing in my life,"

How many of us spend years in the shidduch parsha, praying for our bashert? When he/she finally arrives, do we view him or her as "a blessing in my life"? Do we take time out to thank G-d for what was sent to us?
As Rosh Hashana approaches, may we celebrate a New Year of happy occasions, ones in which we recognize the blessings that Hashem has bestowed upon us and may all your prayers be answered for the good.
Wishing you a sweet, happy and healthy New Year.
